Overwhelm is Real

I don’t really have good strategies, besides currently radically sorting and tidying the physical and virtual office spaces in preparation for the new academic year. What does help you to tackle overwhelm?

This is the "Do all the things!" meme that has been making the rounds in the internet for years.

One insight thought from today’s daily walk: in my profession academic development (faculty development, Lehrausbildung) I always feel I ought to know everything, or at least something about everything from AI to Assessment. But truly this is not possible on any expert level. So letting go and thinking about my role–okay part of my role–as a sort of curator. A gatherer of ideas, resources, experts is probably a healthier approach than to try and understand and learn ALL THE THINGS!

Here is another poem and a photo from my walk to cheer you up!

So many ideas,
So many threads,
Like a huge entangled ball of wool in my head!
Shall I pull here?
Unknot there?
Will this bit ever go anywhere?

Superzoom image of a sunflower in full bloom. The sun hits dew covered pedals. In the foreground the blurred stem obscured the right side of the image in the background the sunflower head is in sharp contrast with yellow and oranges hit by light, against the dark greens of the foreground and background.
I hope this description makes sense. The feeling of the photo is a high summer morning during which sunlight and shade create interesting juxtapositions, the first inkling of autumn is just about tangible
