Just because #AcWriMo2022

Have you ever written something: just because?

Just because the words needed out. Just because you could feel your thoughts churning but were not able to grasp them, hold on to the maelstrom of shapeless cognition?

That’s me today.

The last weeks were full of meetings, and teaching, and movement, and falling down the stairs dislocating my arm some pain thrown in.

There was no breathing space, time for thoughts to take shape beyond their movement. And so I am here, iPad perched on my knees, using the process of writing like a dip net. Trying to catch slippery thoughts.

That may or may not one day turn into a shape, a story, a mind-map, teaching material, blog post, or research proposal.

But for now I am fishing in the maelstrom waiting to see what catches.

Surrealist photo-montage, the background landscape is a close up of a row of small mushrooms on a broken off tree stump, a doodle figure wearing a rain coat and umbrella is walking along the jagged edges of the tree stump, photos of colours fishes are floating in the air. The whole image is overlayed with bubbles. It’s all in strong colours, lush greens, the fishes are tropical and the doodle figure is in bright red orange tones
